How to be an Artist
Break the law. Rebellion will save you. Revolt is your nature. Disobedience is joy.
Go too far. If you never go too far, you will never know where your edges lie.
Art must come first. Before breakfast. Before getting dressed. Before speaking to another. Before going out to earn a living.
Art must come every day.
Art must come even when it doesn't.
Take note of your jealousies. They show you what you truly want.
Success occurs in clusters. Celebrate the winnings of your crowd. Yours comes sooner with each of theirs.
Worldly success is a co-incidence with fashion. Capitalise on it if it hits you.
Pick at a disturbance every day until it bleeds undone, and be its work slave until it takes its own form.
7. Craft Skill
Relinquish thought in the structure and controls of technical rigour and let the art take care of itself.
8. Rat's Arse
It's a rat’s, arse, how you feel or how your work is received. Your job is to make art.
